Ended up here for a couple of drinks as everywhere else was shut due to the heat! Actually had a nice time, some lovely folk about, guy behind the bar was chatty and polite. Liked the interior, quirky... Would like to try a meal here one day.
The rooms are clean and fresh , the food (Sunday lunch) i had was fantastic the food was cooked nice and juicy the hotel staff and bar staff are very help full and able to help with the breakfast situation , fair price lovely hotel
A very comfy place to stay. Room and decoration are not too bad. The hotel is spacious. Just a few things here and there that don't work in my room e.g. broken power socket, no socket for a lamp near a bed. Services are good enough and free breakfast buffet- that is great.

Steeped in history, I imagine that it's recognisable to those that knew it a hundred years ago. Lovely time capsule. Beer in the bar hobgoblin, very good.
Suited me perfectly for a weekend away. Don’t expect the Ritz, but functional and friendly. Car parking a bonus too.
Second stay at this hotel this year and again really enjoyed my stay. friendly staff good pint lovely clean room bit noisy from the traffic outside from the room I’m in Number 3 but nevertheless I enjoyed my stay. I shall return again.
Quite a dated outside and inside also gave the feel of earlier days.But for those who like thstcera its lovely. We had a double and a single on the ground floor. Wet room and toilet. TV . wardrobe. Welcome tray. Car park right next to our room.
So we are here to get our French visa and as a previous resident of Brackley we wanted somewhere central booked 4 days just to check it out ! Booked another 7 days today! Our room is lovely very Elizabethan just what you expect from the age of this hotel . Location just great , don’t have transportation so everything is on hand . Staff are just beautiful humans , go above and beyond. Atmosphere in the bar absolutely fantastic!! We are so happy to have chosen this hotel !! So far 11 days booked but could be more depending on our visa application but I am happy that our stay has been here , very very accommodating
Really comfy bed and nice clean, cosy room. Everyone in the bar very friendly and breakfast was ok. My only negative was that we stayed on a Saturday night which proved to be very noisy as our room was at the front which overlooked the town centre but our friends had a room at the back of the hotel and said it was quiet.
